The four week shares in each lodge are offered on a fractional ownership basis in a company that owns the Freehold of the lodge, and the site on which it is built (about one hectare). In addition, when buying a share one also becomes a shareholder in the Land Owners Association for the whole property.

The lodge was built by the developers and the build quality and finishes are of the usual extremely high standard. The interior designing was done by Nini Stephens who did the beautifully furnished Radish Cottage. She is a full time interior designer and has completed many of the Madikwe Investments lodges in the bush and other fishing lodges elsewhere.

The lodge has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, a large well equipped open plan kitchen, large living room and dining room, fireplaces in the lodge area and in the bedrooms, a covered verandah with a built in braai, and built on the side of a north, north east facing slope looking up the valley.

There are very few really top quality fishing destinations in the Dullstrom, Lydenburg and Machadodorp areas, despite the claims what one might read in the fishing magazines and in the newspapers and press! You just have to look at the development (or over development?) of Dullstrom and the surrounding region and realize that Matekula, with its large area and low lodge density make this a very attractive investment. Coupled with a very reasonable levy at about R19,000 per annum for a four week share, which includes everything from servicing and maintaining the lodges to stocking, it becomes clear that Matekula is an even more attractive proposition which will give enormous pleasure to you, your family and friends for many years to come. Shares are in a company that owns the Freehold so they are yours in perpetuity and you can leave them for future generations.

A first hand viewing is the only way to understand the attraction and value of Matekula and in this regard please contact Rory Brown or William Stephens.
